Q: What is Paranormal Research?
A: Paranormal Research is the study of phenomena that defies normal experience or scientific explaination.
Here are some examples of phenomena that are associated with our work.
GHOST - The spirit of a dead person, especially one believed to appear in bodily likeliness or to haunt former habitats.
ANOMALY - An unusual event that does not fit a standard rule or law. It is something that cannot be explained by current scientific theories. Anything strange, weird, unusual, abnormal or difficult to classify is called an anomaly.
FULL BODY APPARITION - This is the sighting by an eye witness of the ghost or appearance of a deceased person.
CRISIS APPARITION - An apparition in which a person is seen within a few hours of an important crisis or trauma such as death, accident or sudden illness.
DOPPLEGANGER - The spirit of a living person outside of the physical body.
ORBS - These are believed be spirit energy or spirit lights that are caught on camera in alleged haunted locations. Natural contaminents such as dust particles or moisture can also cause such anomalies in photos and video, careful analysis of such phenomena is critical to rule out natural occurence.
BANSHEE - A female entity who heralds a death by screaming or groaning. Originates from Gaelic belief.
ECTOPLASM - The appearance of strange mists again caught on camera in alleged haunted locations are called ectoplasm or ectoplasmic mists.
AUDITORY PHENOMENA - EVP is the study of spirit voices and noises recorded on audio equipment in haunted locations. Human ears may not be able to here such evidence whilst the equipment has managed to record it.
PHYSICAL PHENOMENA - Ghosts and spirits can affect humans in different ways. By drawing off our energy field they can make us feel dizzy, tired or even nauseous. Also extreme physical phenomena can occur. Objects can be thrown or moved. Ghosts and spirits have been known to hit or push humans. Ghosts that are able to do such things are known as noisy ghosts or poltergeist.
